Alternator Components and Functions

An alternator appears to be a tiny, cylindrical generator under the hood. It is commonly secured to the engine with bolts. Rotor

The rotor features a triangular pattern called triangle finger poles, encircling its outer circumference. These triangles possess magnetic properties and exhibit alternating north and south orientations around the rotor. When the alternator rotor is energized, it transforms into an electromagnet at its core.

Voltage Regulator
