Kia Brake Pads
My Garage
Brake pads are the pillars that create friction against the brake discs to help slow your car down. They're housed in the brake calipers, the clamps being filled with brake fluid as you step on the brake pedals that determines how slow your car should be.
Front brake pads do more work than the rear pads, mostly due to the weight distribution being much heavier under the hood. The rear pads exist to support the front, so they'll wear out less easily. Still, any driver may need to look out for signs of wear and tear within about 30,000 miles before they need to get replaced.
In the meantime, it won't take much to maintain your brake pads. You only have to see if your brake pads have caused rust and significant discoloration on your brake rotors or discs, especially after the mileage mark.
If your brake pads begin to wear out earlier than anticipated, and if you spot any white smoke coming from your wheels, then it's also advisable to keep an eye out for your brake calipers as well.
